Market Town

Yesterday we went to a local "market town" which is a centrally located place between villages that comes to life on Friday & Saturdays...hence the name market town.  Everyone from around comes to buy and sell and you'll see everything and anything.  Pigs, chickens, soap, plows, haircuts, gambling, spices, flour, witch doctors, tarot readings, and even popcorn...yes popcorn!  We went to experience what a market town is like and to just have fun absorbing the culture and people.
I will say I have been in several situations in overseas countries where you are the main focus and source of attention.  This however was on a level like I had no experienced before.  The seven of us were literally the circus coming to town.  For many of these people, this was their first experience with a real live white person.  It probably didn't help that four of the seven of us are blonde blue-eyed creatures and one is red headed and seven feet tall.  We did some "walking' took some pictures and even tasted the local popcorn.  Not bad for a days work.

I can promise you this though.  I now know beyond doubt what Brittney Spears feels like in a crowd...without of course K fed, a record deal, starbucks and a couple of kids in tow.
