Oh bless, the new year!

So I'm not sure if it's a special holiday here today or what, which I didn't think it was and none of my friends have said anything....maybe it's the beginning of New Year. Anyway, I was startled awake this morning by the glorious sounds of fireworks or fire crackers rather right outside my bedroom window. Not out in the street, not 100 yards away, like ten feet away. You see I live on the first floor of an apartment complex and their is a small sidewalk right out side my bedroom window that runs through the courtyard between two of the buildings. So at 7AM this morning the firecrackers began and lasted for maybe five minutes. It was however enough of a startlement to freak me out and cause me to pull the sheets over my head really quickly as if I was five and the boogie man had just come in my room. Needless to say, my alarm was set for 7:05 and my heart was pounding so badly that I went ahead and got up. On the plus side, that will really get you woken up and your day started....no over sleeping here.

Just never fear though, if someone ever breaks in or even J comes back, I'll probably be so scared I'll pull the sheets over my head just as I did this morning...lol.

Why, why oh why is it a good idea to light firecrackers at 7, 3, or even 4 AM.?? That's one thing I'll never understand about this culture. Yes, they do it quite often.

Question: What is the craziest thing that has every startled you awake?

Well, earlier this week, we had a thunderstorm. There was one clap of thunder that literally made me shake in the bed. I think my heart stopped for a bit. :)

I left the remote control on the bed and fell asleep; I was awakened when hubby turned over, pulled hard on the comforter and the remote went flying and hit him square in the nose - then he threw the remote onto the bed, it bounced and hit him AGAIN in the same place!!! Boy did I want to laugh, but I just covered my head and asked if he was ok. LOL
