If the Shoe Fits....

I'm not even sure this is blog worthy, but here goes....

Ok, so you know the old saying, "if the shoe fits, wear it..." Well, I've noticed something where I live, especially with men.....the shoe DOESN'T fit!!!

Slippers, is the word my friends use for house shoes, flip flops, slip on shoes, etc. They call them all slippers. Now the girl in me is like no, no, no. Slippers are what my Mamaw wears around the house, no, wait those are house shoes. Ok, maybe slippers could be defined as ballet slippers. No. I guess I really think of slippers as cutesy shoes that little girls wear when they play dress up. But to people here, a slipper is anything without socks that doesn't lace up or have straps. Go figure....

Anyway, the other day I noticed while I was eating fried rice, this guy who had on a pair of slippers..,,,in this case plastic flops that have one wide band over the middle part of the foot right behind the toes, think old school Adidas sandals. So I noticed that about two inches of his foot was hanging off the back! Two inches, how uncomfortable is that!!! So all this week I have purposefully looked and almost every guy I saw that had on slippers had the same issue. Too small! I know random of all random observations, but still. So this brings me to my question. Is it that maybe, in a country known for its small feet, that the feet aren't really as small as they say. Is it possible that they companies are just still making the shoe too small and the consumer is still buying...... Or, is it that these guys just don't care and grab their wife's slippers every time they run out the door?? I mean, if the shoe fits wear it, but if it doesn't.....wear it anyway. :)
